APRIL IS AUTISM ACCEPTANCE MONTH

Sun, Moon & Stars intends to change the conversation.

AWARENESS is key, but ACCEPTANCE is the goal.

“We are all unique, like puzzle pieces, and must accept each other to make our communities whole.”

Christine Faressa, President

Sun, Moon & Stars, Inc.

DID YOU KNOW?

In 2018, the CDC determined that approximately 1 in 59 children is diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

  • 1 in 37 boys

  • 1 in 151 girls

Boys are four times more likely to be diagnosed with autism than girls.

Autism affects all ethnic and socioeconomic groups.

Based on these statistics, we all will likely have a loved one, friend, classmate, neighbor, or co-worker with autism at some point in our lives.
