Sun, Moon & Stars is proud to offer adaptive soccer, t-ball, running and basketball for children and teens on the autism spectrum!

 

The Watertown Stars Sports Program designed for athletes on the autism spectrum ages 5-18 and is offered in collaboration with the Watertown Parks & Recreation Department.

The Watertown Stars is a program exclusively for Sun, Moon & Stars families. *

Due to program capacity and volunteer availability, participation is by invitation only; however, new athletes are encouraged to join our wait lists.

At Sun, Moon & Stars, our mission is to create meaningful opportunities for children of all abilities to participate, connect, and succeed. While our goal is to include every child in our programs, we recognize that not every participant thrives in a group sports setting and will work with families to determine the most appropriate level of support.

 

Siblings as Peer Mentors
We believe sports are most meaningful when they foster inclusion, connection, and family involvement. Siblings are encouraged to participate alongside athletes whenever appropriate, serving as natural peer mentors and role models. Much like the Unified Sports model, sibling participation promotes teamwork, social engagement, confidence-building, and skill development while creating a supportive and familiar environment for all participants.

By sharing the playing field, siblings help encourage communication, sportsmanship, and positive relationships, while athletes benefit from the comfort and encouragement of a trusted peer. This inclusive approach strengthens family bonds and helps create a welcoming team experience for everyone involved.
